Their latest album Night of the Furies (2007) features Matt McCaughan on drums.

The Go! Team are an English, Brighton-based six piece band (with two drummers) whose songs are a mixture of action theme songs, cheerleader chants, guitars and early hip hop, with a hint of '70s funk. Their songs are a mix of live instrumentation and samples from various sources. The Go! Team's first full-length album, Thunder, Lightning, Strike, was released in September 2004 and nominated in 2005 for the Mercury Music Prize. The nomination coincided with the international release of a "legal" version of the album, wherein samples which could not be cleared for commercial use were removed. Their second album is called Proof of Youth and due out in September 2007.

Basia Bulat is a Canadian pop singer-songwriter. Based in London, Ontario, she released an independent EP in 2005. She subsequently signed to Rough Trade Records, which released her full-length debut album, Oh, My Darling, in April, 2007. The lead single, "Snakes and Ladders", has also been playlisted on CBC Radio 3. Bulat has also toured across Canada, and toured Europe for five weeks in April-June 2007.

In April 2007, Bird performed "Plasticities" on Letterman. He also made an appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in June 2007, performing "Imitosis".

Bass player Ted Malmros won a Grammi (Swedish version of the Grammy Awards) for directing the Peter Bjorn and John (see earlier post) video Young Folks. They have released 2 albums; Howl Howl Gaff Gaff (2005) and Our Ill Wills (2007).

Patrick Wolf (born Patrick Apps) is an English singer-songwriter from South London. Wolf plays many instruments including harp, clavinet (sic), harpsichord, guitar, piano, autoharp, kantele, organ, mountain dulcimer, clavichord, harmonium, accordion, theremin, ukulele, viola and violin. He also made some guest appearances as a viola player with bands like Chicks on Speed and The Hidden Cameras. Wolf has released three albums to date. The first two albums - Lycanthropy (2003) and Wind in the Wires (2005) awarded him some recognition, but it was The Magic Position (2007), featuring collaborations with Marianne Faithfull and Ed of Larrikin Love, which propelled him further into the limelight.

Okkervil River are an American rock band originally from New Hampshire, but mostly based in Austin, TX. They are named after a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya, which itself was named after a river in St Petersburg. They have released four albums to date, Stars Too Small To Use (1999), Don't Fall in Love with Everyone You See (2002), Down the River of Golden Dreams (2003) and criticaly acclaimed Black Sheep Boy (2005). Their fifth album The Stage Names is due for release next month (Aug 2007).

The New Pornographers are a Canadian indie rock group formed in 1997 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their sound is highly influenced by such power pop bands as The Cars and Cheap Trick, although their songs are generally of a greater melodic and harmonic complexity. The New Pornographers are frequently referred to as an indie supergroup — because of the members' associations with other bands. The name of the band was chosen by their principal songwriter Carl Newman. It would seem to reflect a quotation attributed to Jimmy Swaggart, who once called music "the new pornography," although Newman did not know of the quote at the time. The band has released three albums to date: Mass Romantic (2000), Electric Version (2003), and Twin Cinema (2005). They are currently working on their fourth album, Challengers, to be released August 2007

Electrelane are a band from Brighton, England, formed in 1998 by Verity Susman and Emma Gaze, and currently comprised of Susman, Gaze, Mia Clarke, and Ros Murray. Their music draws from wide range of influences including Stereolab, Sonic Youth, and The Velvet Underground. Although the band is an all-female group and has strong feminist and political views in their personal lives, they generally prefer to not communicate that directly to their fans or through their music. Albums include Rock It to the Moon (2001), The Power Out (2004), Axes (2005), No Shouts, No Calls (2007).

Battles are an American rock band. The group's line-up is composed of well-known musicians, including ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier, ex-Don Caballero guitarist Ian Williams, ex-Lynx guitarist Dave Konopka, and Tyondai Braxton (son of avant-garde jazz musician Anthony Braxton), who also plays guitar and keyboard and creates live voice samples. Their first full-length album "Mirrored" was released in May 2007. The first single from the album, "Atlas", appeared in an earlier posting, and was voted "Best Single of the Week" by NME magazine.
